Baby Shampoo

Water

1. Prepare the Slip Solution and wash your hands

Fill the bottle with water, leaving enough room to shake, add 3-4 Drops of Baby Shampoo. This is what we use but any baby shampoo will work.

This step is not optional, the film will not slide if soapy water is not used. This will result in misalignment and a lot of bubbles.

Wash your hands

You will be touching the adhesive side of the material. Any oils on your hands will affect the integrity of the adhesive.

2. Clean your screen and all surrounding areas.

The screen protector adhesive will attract any dust or dirt it comes in contact with. It is imperative that you pay special attention to remove any dust or dirt from the screen or surrounding areas. Any dust, lint, hair, fuzz, or dirt will show up as a bubble on your new screen protector.

3. Carefully remove the film from the backing

Spray your fingers with the soapy solution and gently peel a corner of the film from the backing. Spray the adhesive side as you remove it.

4. Spray the film and your screen

With the film in one hand, spray your screen with the solution. You do not want it dripping, you want the solution to form tiny beads throughout. The supplied bottle does a great job at this.

5. Apply the film to your screen being carefull to minimize contact with surrounding areas

You screen and screen protector are now riddled with tiny droplets of soapy water. Gently place it on your display. The water droplets will disperse and form a barrier between your screen and the film.

6. Center the film on your display

The film will now slide freely allowing you to easily get it perfectly centered.

A 1mm gap is designed in to the screen protector. This is to make installation a little bit easier. If you align the screen protector along one edge, the gap will be doubled on the opposite side and the film will appear to be too small.

7. Squeegee out the water working towards an edge.

Hold the film in place with one hand while using the felt side of the supplied squeegee to push the water out. A lot of pressure is not necessary.

Keep an eye on alignment

The film may want to slide around while you are swiping. This is normal. You can continue to align it while swiping. Work Fast, once the moisture evaporates it will lock in place. If this happens, simply remove the film and start over.

8. Gently dry your screen and surrounding areas

Using the supplied cloth, gently wipe the screen being careful not to shift the alignment only wiping from the center out and paying special attention to any edges or cutouts. Once the screen looks good you can dry surrounding ares.

Common Issues

Bubbles or Streaks

Bubbles and Streaking is fairly common if this is your first time. Small bubbles and streaking will subside with time once the moisture evaporates. If there are large bubbles you can gently peel back the closest corner, spray more solution, and re apply. There will be a streak left behind but it will go away after a few minutes.

If the bubbles were caused by dirt or dust it is easily identifiable. There will be a small dot in the center of the bubble. In most cases you can peel back the film, remove the dust by gently wiping it with your soapy finger, and reapplying the film as previously stated.

Unresponsive Screen (Phantom Touch)

DO NOT PANIC! This is a common issue and there is nothing to worry about. The cause of an unresponsive display is what we refer to as phantom touch. Unlike your cellphone, most automotive screens are not designed to handle more than one touch at a time. The moisture hiding around the perimeter or under a bezel will register as a touch. Once the water evaporates it will return to normal. If you want to speed this process up, with your mouth or a can of compressed air, blow around the edges of the display. Especially if the display has a bezel.

Misalignment

Misalignment is rarely an issue with the wet installation method. If you feel like it is not aligned well, simply remove the film and start over.
